Oil Pumps -The Heart of The Heating Plant

A Human being cannot function without a heart, likewise oil pump is an important device of an oil-fired heating plant without which the heating plant will not work. The fuel oil is consider as the blood of the oil burning plant which is to be transported from the tank to burner with safety and reliability. In oil burning plant, the oil should be filtered and subjected to suitable high and stable pressure.

In a heating plant, many different types of pumps are used, their common function is to move the liquid. The design and method of operation of a pump depends partly on how much liquid it must deal and partly on how much pressure the pump must yield?

High pressure Oil pump works on the principle of a pump component, that sucks oil and pressurizes it and valve component that regulates the oil pressure. To meet the correct start and stop operation, different oil volumes, different sizes and types of oil pumps are needed. The size and speed of the gearwheel set will determine the oil volume while the different start-stop operations depends on the valve design chosen for the pump.

A two stage oil pump is used to make the pump yield more which increases the pump speed and pressure settings. This can be done by having two separate regulating systems where one is used for pressure stage 1 and other for pressure stage 2.

The pump pressure should always be regulated with pressure gauge. Correct adjusted pressure is necessary for the nozzle for good efficiency. If the oil pressure is increased without knowing the oil pressure, this may result in too high fuel gas temperature and consequently in less efficiency.
